Matching my Favorite Christian Bops to Books

Hey y’all! It’s been more than a month since my matching Gospel songs to books post and I’ve been racking my brain for follow ups. I have several in my drafts but this one popped into my head recently and I thought it’d be perfect for the next segment of this series.

In that first post, I talked about how Gospel music really helped me get through one of the darkest periods of my life. If you’ve ever been in the car with me, you know my radio stays tuned in to Christian stations. I even listen to my Christian Mix playlist to fall asleep. My faith is really important to me and it’s a major part of my lifestyle.

That being said, these aren’t necessarily “Christian books” that I’m matching the Christian bops too. They’re just books I really enjoyed that I can find myself matching these songs to in some form or another. I hope you enjoy this interesting and maybe even find a book or song that you want to check out.

The Ungodly Hour Book Tag (Original)

Hey y’all, so I’m here with my first ever book tag! I’ve never made one before but when I discovered that The Ungodly Hour didn’t have one, I knew I needed to create it. I was also inspired to make this after seeing the one for Folklore going around. Cielo @ bellerosereads did a really great job with that one, so make sure to check it out if you like Taylor Swift.

The Rules

  • Credit the creator: Rae @ Rae’s Reads and Reviews  (Pingback to the original tag post so I can receive the notification)
  • Shout out the person who tagged you
  • List the rules of the tag in your post.
  • Tag at least 3 people to do the tag!

Let’s get into it!

Assigning Gospel Songs to my Favorite Books

Hey y’all, so today I decided to do something a little fun, different, and (dare I say it) quirky. I’ve wanted to do a song to book post for a while now and this idea popped in my head as I was washing my hair so… let’s do it!

I grew up going to church every Sunday and humming along to Haitian hymns. I didn’t actually start taking an interest in Gospel music until middle school, when I was struggling a lot with my mental health. Though anxiety is still a constant struggle for me, my faith and the Good Lord’s Gospel definitely help me in managing it (along with self-care and therapy).

Today I’ll be trying this out with just five books, but who knows, this might end up being a thing I come back to. Without further ado, here are my book to Gospel associations.
