Let’s Catch Up (#28)

Hey y’all! So I actually forgot to write this. It’s been at the back of my mind all week and I had been planning to type it up on Saturday but I somehow forgot. This is probably a sign that I need to start keeping an organized planner again.

Anywho, let’s have another late afternoon/nighttime catch up session. Grab a cozy blanket, holiday themed drink, and take a seat so we can catch up!

Life Update

I have an assignment for a class I can’t stand due tonight. This professor really makes things a million times more complicated than they need to be and they’re never satisfied on assignments. I haven’t gotten a single 100 on anything, even the easy stuff because they keep taking points off for the smallest things. I really hate this class in general and can’t wait for it to be over in a few weeks.

NaNoWriMo has been going super well. I’m at over 28k so far and my goal for this year is 30k so I’m pretty close to hitting it. I love my story and my main characters so much, but I definitely need to flesh out my side characters more.

I watched Booksmart yesterday on Hulu and it’s honestly hilarious. I don’t remember the last time I laughed that hard at a comedy.

Thanksgiving is this week and I’m not planning on doing anything super special for it. My uncle sometimes hosts a dinner but I don’t think he’s doing that this year. My birthday’s next week though so I’m looking forward to that. I’ll be celebrating at home with the family I live with, so nothing big but it’s nice to see another year and I love the concept of birthdays.

Blogging Update

I’m officially caught up on my book reviews now. I have read other books since those but they’re either ones I don’t plan on reviewing or ones I’ll review together in one longer post. That’ll be coming *hopefully* soon.

Bookstagram has been fun but I’m not a fan of the latest Instagram update. I don’t understand the need for a shopping tab (aside from the disease that is capitalism) and I love reels but I definitely prefer the old explore page format.

Here’s my bookstagram though:

What did I miss?

Here’s the part where I talk about what I posted this week. As mentioned, I put out two blog posts this week. Both were well overdue book reviews.

I read The Kiss Quotient back in October at a time when I really wanted a romance. It was a fun read and I definitely get the hype.

I finally got out my review for The Last Last Day of Summer. It was a super fun read and I can’t wait to see what my younger cousin thinks of it.

YouTube Channels I’ve Been Bingeing

The Take always pops up on my recommended feed but I finally checked out their videos this week and I ended up watching them all weekend.

I’ve been watching Alexa Donne’s videos all day today. She has so much knowledge about being a published author and how to make it in the industry. I’m really loving her videos.

I used to watch Wisecrack a lot when I was in high school but they changed their format a lot recently and I just fell off on their videos. But I decided to check out some of their videos this week and I ended up watching a whole lot.

How was your week?

Have you been watching a lot of YouTube?

Are you planning to do anything for Thanksgiving?

Let me know in the comments below, let’s chat!

  1. Enjoyed the post. My week’s OK. Glad that I have Thursday and Friday off work. I’m forever watching YouTube. I’m a booktuber and work from home, so I always have other booktubers’ videos playing in the background while I work. I have a couple books open right now. I’m working on an ARC of Remote Control by Nnedi Okorafor, Bayou Magic by Jewell Parker Rhodes, and Slay edited by Nicole Givens Kurtz.

    1. I love Booktube! I haven’t been watching as many videos lately but now that the semester is almost over I’ll get back into it. It sounds like it’s a lot of work to keep up with, I wish you the best of luck 😀

  2. I am sorry this one class is such a pain. I hope the assignment went well and that you’ll be through with it all soon!!
Also, by now, I know you hit those 30K and I just want to say CONGRATS!!! It’s not an easy feat and you did so well and I am proud of you for sticking to your goal, even when it’s not easy.
