Top 5 Tuesday ~ Top 5 Characters I Would Dress Up As

Hey y’all, happy Top 5 Tuesday! These new topics have been a whole lot of fun. I had to rack my brain a bit for this one, but I think these five could work for me.

Top 5 Tuesday was originally created by Shanah @ Bionic Book Worm. She has now passed the baton to Meeghan @ Meeghan Reads. Meeghan has created some great topics for this month and I’m looking forward to what she’ll be picking out for next month.

I’m going to cheat a little for these first two.

Emoni and Jo

I actually have dressed up as both Emoni from With the Fire on High and Jo Bennett from The Black Kids. I dressed up as Emoni for a reading challenge and then as Jo Bennett to announce the giveaway I was hosting. Make sure to check out my bookstagram if you want to see me trying to emulate these characters.

Bri

On the Come Up by Angie Thomas

Next time I get box braids, I definitely want to dress up as Bri from On the Come Up. I love her on the cover and I love her as a character.

Chloe Brown

Get a Life, Chloe Brown (The Brown Sisters, #1) by Talia Hibbert

So, I just read Get a Life, Chloe Brown last week and I probably won’t be shutting up about it for a while. I love Chloe’s style. I could definitely see myself wearing all of the buttons and pretty skirts.

Jasmine

Let Me Hear a Rhyme by Tiffany D. Jackson

Let Me Hear a Rhyme takes place in the 90s so yeah, I’m definitely down to try out Jasmine’s outfits.

Did you participate in Top 5 Tuesday?(Link yours below!)

    1. Thank you so much! I absolutely loved doing the Emoni cosplay 😀 I really want to go thrifting to see if I can find some “vintage” clothes so I can dress up as Chloe. I feel like they’d end up being outfits I wear all the time

  1. Chloe would be such a fun cosplay! Great skirts and her cute buttons? Perfection. I was just re-reading “Brazen and the Beast” by Sarah MacLean and I would love to go blonde and wear a beautiful turquoise ballgown like Hattie!

      1. So much fun! I hope you get yourself a pretty, bold, twirly skirt soon. 😀
If you ever have the need for a historical romance read, that has modern sass, fantastic world building, and dynamic characters -“Brazen and the Beast” is a great go to. It’s the second book in a trilogy, but definitely stands on its own.

    1. I actually don’t celebrate Halloween but I’ll probably dress up as these characters for my bookstagram ☺️

I was never into dressing up as a kid but dressing up as book characters is actually so much fun 😂

  2. Great post! I’ve never cosplayed as a book character before! I would probably go as Ruby from The Falling in love Montage 👍 I love your picks – I need to read On The come Up. Great post
