TOP 5 BOOKISH HABITS

I missed Down the TBR Hole yesterday but I did NOT want to miss Top 5 Tuesday. I’m literally typing this up in the morning as I’m getting ready for school.

I was actually kind of confused by this topic, then I read Shanah’s and it made a lot more sense.

Top 5 Tuesday is a weekly meme hosted by the lovely Shanah of Bionic Book Worm. It’s all good vibes and good times and if you’re on the fence about joining, just try it out!

So, let’s not delay this:

Twists and Turns

Finding a comfortable reading position isn’t always easy. I’ve been known to sit upside down when reading a book, if it feels right. I will shift and turn and somersault until I find a position I like.

Naked Books

Yes, just like Shanah (and I’m sure many of you) I like to read my hardcovers without the dust jacket on. I just don’t want to ruin it.

Real Time Reactions

My mom used to make fun of me all the time for this, but I still do it. As I’m reading, I will react to what I’m reading as I’m reading it. Basically, I get really into the book and start to show it by my actions. I’m no stranger to crying while reading, but I also find myself jumping up and down for joy or sucking my teeth at annoying characters. I get really into it.

That New Book Smell

I’m sure this would sound really weird to non-bookish people but I love smelling my books when I first get them. There’s just something about that fresh paper.

Scoping Little Free Libraries

There are a whole bunch of Little Free Libraries in the city near me and I always look to see if there’s anything good. Sometimes I find some great hidden treasures, other times I get something cute for my cousins. It’s always a fun addition to my Downtown adventures.

Do you share any of these habits?

What are your bookish habits?

  1. Oh, I get emotionally caught up with the books I read too. I was bawling my eyes out at the weekend reading Hammered by Kevin Hearne – my family take the piss out of me all the time because of it.
I hope you enjoy the rest of your week. Here’s my Top 5 Tuesday Post
