Let’s Catch Up (#6)

This week was wild in so many ways y’all. It’s time for us to catch up. Sidenote: Today has been super hectic hence why this is going up so late.

My “Real” Life

I talked about it a little bit yesterday, but my life has been truly wild lately. I can only blame myself for this one…

I decided to be in a pageant for one of my organizations. It’s called Konbit Kreyol and it’s the main Haitian organization on campus. I wanted to do it last year, but alas, I had no time back then either. This year I decided it was now or never so now I have pageant meetings twice a week.

I’m also playing in a soccer match for that same organization. We’re going to play against the Jewish organization on campus and the match is called Haiti vs. Israel. Practice has been fun and I’m happy to have that outlet again. I missed playing soccer.

I also decided to run for governor of my school’s campus. It’s basically a step up from my current job as a program director and I’m campaigning until the end of the month. Elections go by really quick in Student Government.

On the class side of things, I had two papers due. The first one was a one-page paper for my New Testament class, but the kind where you’re supposed to say a lot in just one page. I had to lower the margins to fit everything. The other paper was supposed to be 2-3 pages. Mine was three full pages because it’s for Literature and Environment and the topic was super interesting. I also had an online assignment that I nearly forgot to do, so that was fun.

Work was honestly the most stressful of them all. My program is doing a huge event on Tuesday so my team and I have been preparing for it for a while but now it’s really crunch time. Then, we found out our current office is being renovated and we’d have to move all our stuff by this past Friday to a smaller, temporary office space. That really didn’t help with my stress levels.

Yesterday, I had a Self-Care Saturday where I took myself out on a date. It was honestly so much fun and I think I’ll be doing it again in the future. Who needs a Valentine when you’ve got yourself?

All in all, it’s been a wild week and I’m happy to just have a minute to finally breathe.

Blogging Life

I missed WWW Wednesday again but it’s all good. It’s turning into a bi-weekly thing anyway at this point. Also, I’m not including descriptions this week because I’m already super behind on posting this. Click the titles to see the full post!
