Let’s Catch Up (#4)

Sunday funday y’all! Let’s catch up on the happenings of this week. Please bear with me and my seventies slang.

I’m trying something a little different this week. I love testing the waters with new things like this. I also love reading others bloggers wrap-ups and seeing how their lives are going. So today, I’m gonna catch you up on what’s going on in my life outside of blogging, then we’ll talk about my latest blog posts.

My “Real” Life

Outside of the internet, I’ve been busy with school and work. I’ve been enjoying my classes a lot more than I expected this semester. My assigned readings for my English classes have been super interesting and definitely stuff I wouldn’t have checked out on my own.

My professors are all pretty interesting. For Literature and Environment, my professor is super eco-conscious but she also talks about how colonialism impacted the environment and I love that one of the articles we read was called “Birding While Black.” She also talks about how her tiny dog shouldn’t exist, biologically speaking.

In Sci-Fi, my professor is always spilling the tea on the lives of the writers. She’s told us a few things about H. G. Wells that I wasn’t expecting to hear in an English class. She’s also a self-proclaimed nerd which is probably true of most English professors. Our class discussions are super fun.

My New Testament professor is pretty cool. She adds a lot of Jewish philosophers perspectives and it’s such a different way to look at the Bible. It’s more of a lecture heavy class but the homework is pretty easy.

I’ve had my Bio Bases of Behavior 2 professor for three other classes before. I’ve literally taken her every semester since Spring 2019. I love her and her stories. They help me remember the info a lot better and they’re usually really funny.

Work has been great! I’ve been so busy setting things up for our upcoming events. We had our first team meeting of the semester and it was great seeing everyone again, I missed them.

Now onto what you probably came for:

Blogging Life

Like I said last week, I’m not planning to have a post every day. That’s just a fun thing I do when I have a lot of free time before classes and work start. I love writing, but I also need to get this paycheck y’all.

That being said, I managed to get four posts out this week. The beginning of the week is usually easier for me to get up since I have an assigned post for each of those days. I’m hoping to get some more bookish posts on Fridays, even if it’s not necessarily a review.

Jan. 20th ~ Down the TBR Hole #12

Down the TBR Hole
Rae's Reads and Reviews

I’m making some progress through the TBR. I still have a little over 300 books in my Goodreads TBR so far, but I’m getting through it. Check out what I let go of this week, at least one of them may come as a surprise. *insert sly emoji face*

Jan. 21st ~ Top 5 Tuesday

Top 5 Tuesday Hosted by Bionic Book Worm

Rae's Reads and Reviews

This week’s theme was “TOP 5 REASONS I RATE A BOOK 5 STARS” and I really had to think about this one. There’s so much that goes into a five star rating and sometimes you don’t have the words to explain it. I tried my best and honestly liked what I came up with.

Jan. 22nd ~ WWW Wednesday

WWW Wednesday

Rae's Reads and Reviews

I decided I liked doing this two week’s ago, and now that I’m reading a ton for my classes, I brought it back. I love the idea of having a set post for Mondays, Tuesdays, and Wednesdays. It really takes some of the pressure off blogging. I’m thinking about changing the banner for this though, I’m not really liking the set-up.

Jan. 25th ~ Grown-ish Recap

Grownish Season 3 Episode 2 Recap + Discussion

If you missed Grownish Season 3 Episode 2, or just want to chat about what happened, make sure to check this post out! I really like the direction this new season is taking. Also, this week’s episode got me in my feels.
