Mixed-ish Series Premiere (Recap + Discussion)

Now that Grownish is out for the year, I’ve been looking forward to other shows to keep me occupied. This has definitely been pretty high on that list.

Down the TBR Hole #8

It’s been two weeks since my last DTH. These past two weeks have been super hectic between school and work. I ended up taking a break from social media so I could work on catching up on assignments. It was much needed, but I definitely missed Bookstagram. Anyhow, let’s get into this.

The Rules

  •  1. Go to your Goodreads to-read shelf.
  •  2. Order on ascending date added.
  •  3. Take the first 5 (or 10 if you’re feeling adventurous) books.
  •  4. Read the synopsis of the books.

My First Goodreads Review

While I was working on what would have this week’s Down the TBR Hole (sorry, I forgot to finish it), I realized that I forgot to add my recent reviews to Goodreads. Then, as I started doing just that, I realized I hadn’t added reviews for the past seven books!

Top 5 Tuesday | Fall Reading Recommendations

Hey y’all, this week has been a weird one. I haven’t had as much time for typing up blog posts, hence the lack of Down the TBR Hole yesterday. Classes are in full swing, exams are happening, essays are due, and I honestly get overwhelmed with it all at times.

I’ve been taking a break from social media this week to give myself some extra time to recuperate, but I will do my best with maintaining Rae’s Reads and Reviews. Now enough about me, let’s get into what you came here for.

Top 5 Tuesday is a weekly meme hosted by Shanah of the Bionic Book Worm. I’ve been following her blog for a while and you probably should, too. She’s a great book blogger and super sweet.

This week’s theme is 5 Fall reading recommendations, which I was honestly a bit iffy about. Then I started to think of what fall meant to me, seeing as I am from Florida and we don’t have any real seasons. I tried my best, enjoy.

Let’s Go Swimming on Doomsday (Book Review)

Somehow I simultaneously couldn’t put this book down but I couldn’t keep reading. I had to reread several statements just to make sure I’d read them right. It was painful to read at times, but also quite necessary.

The edition I’m reviewing is an uncorrected proof I received from a friend at Penguin Random House. Let’s Go Swimming on Doomsday was published in January of 2019.
