I’m back for another Library Book Haul Wrap-up. I got through all four books this time around. Some were great, others not so much. Here’s a summary of my thoughts, for full reviews click the links.
Piecing Me Together by Renee Watson
Piecing Me Together is the kind of book I’ve been waiting for. I loved it! It’s a perfect example of representation. I saw myself in the main character and her family, and even in her situation.
The Upside of Unrequited by Becky Albertalli
The Upside of Unrequited was pretty good. I really liked it, just didn’t love it. The characters were all pretty fun and relatable.
Love, Hate, and Other Filters by Samira Ahmed
If you read the full review, you already know I was not a fan of Love, Hate, & Other Filters. It didn’t deliver on its promise and the Muslim representation was definitely lacking.
Watch Us Rise by Renee Watson & Ellen Hagan
Watch Us Rise is great for beginning feminists and women who love stories about women. I’m surprised it hasn’t gotten as much buzz.
