Last week I went to the library for the first time in a long time. I chose four books and I already finished one over the weekend. I’m hoping to get through the rest pretty soon. I’ve linked to the Goodreads synopsis for each of these, just click on the titles.

My Thoughts on The Sun is Also a Star (Movie Review)

The Sun is Also a Star is a book to movie adaptation about two teens going through a life changing day. Natasha and Daniel meet throughout the day, despite all odds. In just 24 hours, the two learn about life, love, and the pursuit of something greater than themselves.

I read the book over a year ago and as soon as I heard there was a film to come, I got super excited. I was expecting to love it just as much as Everything, Everything. Now, I’m starting to wonder if time has clouded my vision. Memories aren’t nearly as accurate as we’d like to think.

Two for Tuesday: Now that’s Innovative

Week #3: Two books, TV shows, and/or movies that are innovative.

This is definitely something that I think will be more geared toward movies and TV. I’m sure Sci-fi books could fall under this, but definitely choose anything that you feel is innovative.

I chose to go the Sci-fi/Superhero route with this prompt. These are both movies, one of which is currently on Netflix.

My Thoughts on Spike Lee’s See You Yesterday

See You Yesterday is the latest film in Spike Lee’s growing work with Netflix. Spike Lee was the producer and the film is directed by Stefon Bristol.

The story centers around a pair of Brooklyn teenagers who have basically invented a way to time travel. CJ and Sebastian are working on improving their invention, but before they can master it, CJ’s brother Calvin is murdered. CJ convinces Sebastian to help her try to save Calvin, despite the risks.
