Two for Tuesday Prompt #2

Prompt #2: Two Books that helped you fall in love with reading

I find it fitting that this prompt is starting right by Valentine’s Day. It’s almost as if I planned it that way. *wink**wink*

I’ve been reading since I was little. My mom heavily encouraged reading growing up and I remember our trips to the local library together. She’d always let me get two books for a dollar from the old ones they were selling.

This week I chose:

The Magic Tree House Series by Mary Pope Osborne

This was probably one of the first real chapter book series I ever got into. I LOVED Magic Tree House. Every class trip to the library involved me scanning the shelves to see if any new editions came in. This series was the bomb dot com.

The Percy Jackson Series by Rick Riordan

I started reading this series well after I fell in love with reading, but Percy Jackson sparked an interest in Greek mythology that I wasn’t expecting. Middle school would not have been the same if I hadn’t had this series.

What were some of your favorite childhood books?

What books do you currently love?

How are you planning on spending the week?

Let me know in the comments!
