Recommendations from Blogger Buddies

I’ve been trying to get more involved in the blogging community these past few months and I’ve been loving it! Along with being more active, I’ve gotten a ton of book recommendations from my wonderful, fellow bloggers.

I’ve linked to their blogs and their reviews of books mentioned. Here are just a few of the books I plan on checking out thanks to bloggers.

From Renée of The Global Bookworm:

The Vegetarian by Han Kang

I’m a vegetarian, so the title automatically caught my attention. The synopsis sounds weird, but I am a fan of psychological thrillers so I’m sure it’ll be worth it.

The Eight Life by Nino Haratischwili

I’m waiting for this one to be translated into English.

From Leslie of Books Are The New Black:

Emergency Contact by Mary H. K. Choi

I’ve seen reviews all over WordPress for this one, but Leslie mentions it all the time in her posts and that makes me want to read it so much more.

From Kristin of Kristin Kraves Books:

Born a Crime (The Audiobook Version) by Trevor Noah

I love Trevor Noah, I’ve seen all of his comedy specials and I watch the Daily Show almost daily. Kristin’s review has gotten me laser focused on getting the audiobook version. I’m waiting for my library to get it so I can listen on my commute to school.

From Brittany of Brittany & Her Bookshelf:

Don’t Call Us Dead by Danez Smith

I hadn’t even known Danez Smith had another book out. I read Black Movie at the end of last year and loved it. I also love his Spoken Word.

From Sarah of The Bibliophagist:

Becoming by Michelle Obama

I love Michelle Obama. Enough said.

This is just the tip of the iceburg when it comes to the amazing bloggers I’ve been able to read from and chat with over the past few months.

  1. I am 100% in favour of Born a Crime! I didn’t have the audiobook, but I adored reading it nonetheless. Just be prepared for there really to not be a lot of hints at his career 🙂 I hope he maybe writes another book focusing more on that aspect in the future.
