The Grinch Book Tag

I was exploring a few other blogs when I stumbled upon this tag. I found this it on In Libris Veritas. If you read my Monday post, you already know how much I love The Grinch.

Half of the lights on the Christmas tree are burnt out – Name a book/series/character that started out well and then went downhill.

I forgot I read Dorothy Must Die this year. The premise was great but I didn’t care for the execution.

Annoying relatives won’t leave you alone – Name a book that you did not enjoy but everyone else seems to love, and it will not stop haunting you.

This is one of my more recent reviews. To All the Boys I’ve Loved Before played out much better on screen than as a book, for me.

Your pets keep knocking over your Christmas decorations – Name a character that kept on messing everything up for everyone.

Though I love him dearly, I have to admit, Monty made some pretty bad decisions. Thankfully, that worked well into his character arc and he grew as a person.

You hear your parents putting presents out and learn that Father Christmas is not real – Name a book you were spoiled for.

I just know I would have loved Everything, Everything so much more if it hadn’t been spoiled for me halfway through.

It’s freezing outside – Name a character you just couldn’t warm to.

I couldn’t warm up to any of the characters because I could barely understand what was going on. Black was such a mess. Another great concept with poor execution, but the illustrations were great.

Mariah Carey’s ‘All I Want For Christmas Is You’ is being played a lot on the radio, giving you anti-romantic feelings – Name a couple that you just could not stand.

If you’ve read my review, you know how much I can’t stand this book. It’s a dumpster fire.

The scratchy homemade jumper that you got for Christmas years ago but have never worn – A book that has been sitting on your shelf for years that you are not motivated to read, but do not have the heart to get rid of.

I keep saying that I’ll read it, but I still have yet to do so. The sad part is that I’ve actually met the author and I have a signed copy. What am I doing???

Grandma has gotten run over by a reindeer – Name a character death that you are still mad about.

If you’ve read the book, or seen the movie, or just know then you know the two I’m referring to.

Shops are overcrowded with shoppers for the holidays – Name a series with too many books, or that went on too long.

This series should have ended a loooong time ago. There are 19 books, not including companion novels! Why did Sara Shepard keep going, she honestly could’ve wrapped it up so long ago. Even when we did think she wrapped up the series, she decided to write three or four more books. Why? Just… why?

The Grinch – Name a main character that you absolutely hate (not a villain).

I forgot about this one. I found it on my Goodreads shelf, I rated it a two but it was probably a one. I was a much more generous rater back then. I read it for a reading challenge at school but I thought it was absolutely terrible.

I Tag…

Lori, Brittany, Sakhile and anyone else who wants to do it!

Have you read any of these books?
